Looking for personalized coaching and a group to train with in the D.C. - Northern Virginia Metro area? Whether you’re a beginner looking to compete in your first race or an experienced marathoner looking to qualify for Boston or triumph in your age group, Capital Area Runners offers a variety of training program s designed to help you achieve your goals. Our programs concentrate on individual development within a supportive team environment and are organized by one of the top coaches and runners in the DC area.
Capital Area Runners offers year-round training, as well as programs that target specific races or events. Our summer/fall marathon training program will help prepare you to be your best on race day, featuring specific training for Marine Corp Marathon and other distance races such as ING Rock N Roll Philly and ARMY 10 miler. Our winter/spring programs will help you maintain your fitness through the coldest days of the year and burn off those extra holiday calories, as well as get you ready for late winter/early spring races such as the St. Pat’s 8k, the National Marathon, the Cherry Blossom and GW Parkway 10 milers and the Boston Marathon.

Training
Great for people who are looking to run in upcoming 10 milers, 10ks, marathons, or an experienced runner/marathoner looking to qualify for Boston or triumph in their age group. Participants have direct access to Capital Area Runners head coach, George Buckheit, and receive support from fellow participants. A social group for people looking to break through in their running.
Annual Membership
Need something to get you going and great camrederie on the run? Our Annual Membership plan is for you! Featuring weekly e-newsletters filled with great advice and running tips from Capital Area Runners coach George Buckheit. They'll keep you pumped up for your runs all week long. Annual Members have access to Saturday and Sunday long runs held at various locations.
